It 'an oil painting on canvas of 54.8 x 40.3 cm built between 1488 and 1490. It is stored in the Czartoryski Muzeum in Cracow.
Top left is the apocryphal writing "LA BELE FERON LEONARD DA VINCI." It should be a portrait of Cecilia Gallerani, one of Lovers of Duke Ludovico Sforza, patron of Leonardo in Milan, Ludovico, as was the heraldic emblem ermine.
For his white hair, the animal was considered a symbol of purity. By X-ray showed that behind the left shoulder of the lady was once painted a window.
